Prevention of Trafficking of Women and Children in Sri Lanka
This Project was carried out in the anuradhapura, Kurungala and Matale districts.The key objectives of this project was to reduce the number of women and children who are trfficked from the project areas as a result of internal and external migration, while improving education , awareness and preparedness of women and children in these areas on the actualities of migrations.Advocacy material was developed and awareness was raised amongst the stakeholders about traficcking, its consequences and preventive measures that could be taken.The project was completed in June 2003 with training material being formulated, and awareness programs being held for the stake holder ...More
